A basket, a panoramic spot over the lake and the produce of local farms. That is the project of Beatrice Cermenati, a young farm entrepreneur from Civenna, a hamlet in the hills of Bellagio, who on Tuesday, October 13 received a special mention at the 2026 Oscar Green awards of Coldiretti Lombardia, the prize for innovative ideas by farm entrepreneurs under 35. The regional ceremony, promoted by Coldiretti Giovani Impresa, was held at Ville Ponti in Varese and brought together young entrepreneurs from across Lombardy. The award was presented to Cermenati by Pietro Castelli, the Coldiretti Giovani Impresa delegate for Como and Lecco and a Chamber of Commerce councillor. The regional agriculture councillor Alessandro Beduschi also attended, with his presence at the ceremony announced in the official agenda of the regional government.

From brunch to dinner under the stars

The honoured project turns the traditional outdoor lunch into a rural tourism experience: visitors are offered a basket with everything needed for a meal in the open air at a panoramic spot overlooking Lake Como. The formats range from brunch to lunch, from dinner under the stars to special events such as silent book parties, where reading and conviviality meet in a natural setting. The baskets hold the produce of her farm and of other local farms: cured meats, cheeses, bread, focaccia, seasonal fruit and vegetables and homemade desserts. The project thus networks several producers, linking outdoor dining with the promotion of local supply chains and with a form of hospitality aimed at visitors to the Bellagio hills.

Il riconoscimento assegnato a Beatrice Cermenati dimostra come le nostre aziende agricole sappiano interpretare le nuove richieste dei consumatori e dei visitatori.

Trezzi, who attended also as president of the Consorzio Agrario Lombardo, recalled the role of farm businesses in keeping the Lake Como landscape alive and underlined the importance of generational renewal, above all in hill and mountain areas. According to a Coldiretti Lombardia analysis of Chamber of Commerce register data cited in reports of the ceremony, about three thousand Lombard farm businesses are led by entrepreneurs under 35.

The Ville Ponti day, between awards and drones in the fields

The 2026 Oscar Green edition, dedicated to the theme Giovani Oggi, honoured experiences from across the region in the four main categories Campagna Amica, Impresa Digitale e Sostenibile, Coltiviamo Insieme and +Impresa, alongside special prizes and territorial mentions. Category winners included Davide Chizzoni of Bozzolo for +Impresa, Emanuela Coniglio of Albosaggia for Campagna Amica, Matteo Turrini of Pezzaze for Coltiviamo Insieme and Franco Manella of Cologno al Serio for Impresa Digitale e Sostenibile. Special mentions also went to Arianna Losi of Rivolta d'Adda and Francesca Zigaglio of Angera.

The ceremony was preceded by the conference Droni nei campi, on new technologies for farming that challenges the climate: meteorologist Andrea Giuliacci and Thomas Rossetti of SquaDrone illustrated the use of drones to monitor crops, spot problems early and plan targeted interventions. Two faces of the same day: on one side precision tools, on the other a picnic basket that carries the flavours of the Bellagio hills into the experience of the lake's visitors.
